Recording and Saving an Activity – Help & Support

An activity in Scaletra is any recorded journey or session you complete using your RC vehicle. When you start recording with the app, it logs important details like your route on the map (via GPS), distance traveled, elevation gain, speed, and more. You can also add photos, comments, and waypoints along the way to document your experience.

Think of an activity as your personal adventure log. Whether you're trailing, crawling, or just exploring, every time you record and save it, that's considered an activity. You don’t need to join a challenge to record one—activities can be done anytime, anywhere, with any vehicle you've added to your garage.

Starting an Activity:

Navigate to the Record tab.

Select a Vehicle.

Start the activity by tapping on Record.

Take photos using your phone’s camera app during the activity.

During the activity, you can take photos using your phone's camera app without interrupting the activity recording. These photos can be added later after finishing and before saving the activity.

Your photos will show waypoints in the map if your phone’s camera app has access to location services.

Track your activity.

Saving an Activity:

When you're done with your recording, tap on Pause, then tap on Finish.

Crop the activity if you wish to trim out unwanted recordings.

Upload photos.

Up to 10 photos can be uploaded per activity.

You can set a desired photo as a thumbnail or leave it as is to display the map as the main picture.

You can set captions to each photo

Choose if you would like to hide your map.

When toggled, your map will not be displayed to other drivers after your activity is shared.

You can change the default selection in your profile settings.

Add captions, notes and information about the trail activity.

Select your Privacy.

Everyone: Your activity is visible to all users.

Followers Only: Only your followers can see it.

No-one: Your activity remains private and only you can see it.

Tap on Save when you’re done.
