Photo Waypoints

Learn how to add photo waypoints.

Photo Waypoints are images you take during an activity or challenge that are automatically tagged with their geolocation and added to your recorded map.

These waypoints help to:

  • Mark significant points of interest or memorable moments on your journey.
  • Create a visual timeline of your activity.
  • Allow others to see and understand your adventure in more detail.

How to Use Photo Waypoints

  1. Take Photos During an Activity
      • While participating in a challenge or recording an activity, use your phone’s camera to capture photos.
      • Scaletra will automatically save these images with their corresponding GPS location.
        • Make sure that your photos have geolocation data by allowing Location Access to your phone’s camera app.
        • For iOS go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services.
        • For Android go to Settings > Apps > Camera > App permissions > Location.
        • For instructions related to other phone models, please refer to your phone's documentation.
  1. Automatic Placement on the Map
      • Once the activity is saved, each photo is displayed as a waypoint on the map, allowing you and others to view them along your route.
  1. Add Photos Later
      • If you forget to take photos during your activity, you can upload them afterward using the Edit Activity option.
