Connectivity and GPS Considerations
Learn how to troubleshoot connectivity issues.
The app’s performance depends heavily on your internet connection, data coverage, and GPS signal:
- Internet Connection: Limited functionality may occur if you’re offline. Restoring your connection will fully re-enable the app.
- GPS Signal: Weak GPS may lead to inaccurate position tracking ie. Urban Areas, Underground, Dense Forests, Caves and Deep Valleys, Indoors, Underwater, Polar Regions, Military or Restricted Areas. For the best experience, avoid these areas to ensure your device has a strong signal.
- Battery Saver: GPS functionality requires power. Disabling battery saver in you phone’s settings ensures that you are transmitting and receiving GPS signals accurately.
Pro Tip!: If you don’t have signal in the area you are trailing, plan ahead. You don't actually need cell coverage if you are about to start or already started the activity before reception went out. Just keep the GPS on, it will save the activity to your phone and upload to the app once internet is back. Then once uploaded just crop out the beginning part of the activity before your actual trailing started. See Offline Mode to learn more.
