Overspeeding
Learn what is overspeeding and how does it affect your recording.
Overspeeding in Scaletra refers to moving at a speed beyond what is realistically possible when walking or jogging with an RC vehicle. This is detected by the app’s built-in algorithm to prevent inaccurate recordings or unfair challenge completions.
If overspeeding is detected, the trail line on your map will turn grey instead of green, indicating that data recorded during those moments may not be valid. This can happen due to:
- Traveling too fast beyond human capability.
- Poor GPS signal causing inaccurate speed readings.
- Cellular data loss affecting real-time tracking.
Once your speed returns to a normal range and GPS stabilizes, the trail line will turn green again, and the app will continue recording your activity as usual.
We are introducing a penalty system to furthermore enforce no cheating in Scaletra. This system will now invalidate normal tracking if done in between 2 instances of overspeeding. For example: you resume normal tracking after an overspeeding instance, then you overpseed again within 120 seconds. The green line in between the two gray lines will not be counted and will also turn to gray towards your tracking and final distance.
